Yes it is. What good is a mobile messaging app if it doesn't also have a desktop incarnation? Not very good, especially for people who spend a lot of time in front of a computer screen. Switching your attention between the monitor and the phone screen can strain the eyes and hurt the neck. Viber for Windows has the same functions as Viber for the Android system, yet it fits a bigger frame.

Pretty much, yes. Besides what you get in the mobile version, having Viber on the desktop means that you can use it on a bigger screen.
Viber has been redesigned for the desktop environment and it looks clean and modern with the usual gray & mov color scheme. Besides the classic text messaging, free calls and out-calls, Viber has introduced two new features recently.
The new video call is a communication option between Viber users. Taking the whole screen it also lets you see your own mug along with your interlocutor's.
Public Chat is a new feature that lets you search for and join created group chats. There's no membership required for they are public. The topics are very varied and you can also browse through a selection of worldwide chat rooms or rooms that are closer to your home in terms of language and topics.
The options menu contains the same things except for different notifications options. Viber can still make notifications when not in focus, but on the PC you can set their location on screen.
Features
- Instant Messaging
- Group chat
- Free calls and paid out-calls
- Video calls
- Public chat access
Pros
- Having a desktop version really enhances the accessibility
Cons
Conclusion
Viber for desktop doesn't stand out from the mobile version, but is a nice app to have on your computer if you often use it. Since video calls are more comfortable while sitting at your desk then holding something to your face, the desktop environment is much better suited for this application.
